The Disney College Program, or DCP, is a temporary employment by the Walt Disney Co. in either Disneyland or DisneyWorld for roughly 5 months. A CP or College Programmer will live in either Florida or California and work at the parks or resorts in every role imaginable. You only get hired for one role though for your whole program, so if you are a food and beverage cast member you will stay that for the rest of your program. You also have the opportunity to take classes with the company to get school credit. This has been a tremendous learning experience both in how to really budget money, but also how to learn to live alone without any real safety net. I have grown as a person because of the experiences I have been though here in Florida. If you want to meet some of your best friends, get a foothold in a fantastic company, and have an experience like no other, then I need to recommend this program. It does not hurt that you get to play in the parks on your days off. While that is fun it is important to remember that if you are selected to participate you are working. This is a job first and foremost; we have the privilege to enjoy the perks of working for the company when we are not working. It is a tough job, but the benefits and seeing happy people make up for the long hours.
