Being a CP is a tremendous honor, and a lot of hard work. One of the most important things to know about this job is that Disney operates on a 24 hour clock because guests need to be helped all the time. As a food and beverage cast member I often arrive at my location long before we open typically around 10; most of the areas open at 11. We arrive early to get the restaurant ready. We make sure cups, cutlery, straws, condiments and our products are stocked to the necessary levels. If we finish before we open we greet guests. This means that we welcome them and ask them if they have any questions, and if they do, we answer them to the best of our ability. We never leave a guest without some sort of answer or directing them to someone who will know the answer. Now, there are multiple jobs that can be done while working at the festival kiosks. You have register, expo, filler(s), breaker, and money. The register shifts are self explanatory; whoever is at the registers takes the order of the guest. Expo will take the receipt of the guest read what the have and confirm that this is the correct order, and they proceed to get the guest their order. The filler or fillers are typically used to pour drinks, but in some kiosks the filler may pour the cheese soup into cups and plate it. Typically it is the job of one filler to clean the kiosk after closing. They take apart all of the machines and clean them, as well as the counters and doors and make sure everything is stocked for the next day. Breaker is a fun job. Breaker is in charge of giving people their breaks when it is time for their breaks. It is a fun job because typically when you have an assigned job for the day that is your job for the whole shift. However, when you are breaker you take over the for the person going on break so you get to do every job in the kiosk. Money is the last job. The person who has the money shift works the register but stays long after the kiosk is closed because they are in charge of counting all the cash drawers. Typically the person with the money shift arrives later in the day because they leave work the latest. Depending on the day, the kiosks either close at 9pm or 10pm. I personally have worked plenty of 10am-10pm shifts and I am always exhausted; but I always have so much fun that I forget how tired I am during the day. I would get back from work, definitely take a shower, and then I go to bed ready to get up at 7 and do it all over again. It is very tiring; guests get mad at you all the time for every little problem, but when you are able to do something nice for a family like give them an extra treat and they thank you because they are so happy to have something special, it makes you feel so good inside.
